Last week the first phase of the as 5G frequency action ended and the frequencies bands around 700MHz(6), 2600MHz(6) and 3500MHz (20) were assigned to the 3 carriers: Pelephone, Celcom and Partner.
PR of 5G started and all carriers demoed their abilities in order to create demand for their services.
Pelephone announced that their network is ready to operate and will be operated in the next few months. In the next year we will probably see more and more antenna sites upgraded with 5G antennas. According to the action contract each carrier is expected to install/update/deploy at least 250 5G antennas in the following year in order to provide basic cavarage in 2021..
