Studies on the Effects of Dirty Electricity
The field of “dirty electricity” (in fact, intermediate frequency electric fields from power lines and electrical systems) is relatively new, and so is the research in this field. In English, and in the electrical field, it is sometimes described as POWER QUALITY.
On this page we describe studies that are relevant mainly to dirty electricity.
Partial list
- Magda Havas, 2008 – Dirty electricity elevates blood sugar among electrically sensitive diabetics and may explain brittle diabetes

– Dirty electricity harms diabetes patients - Magda Havas, 2008 – Power quality affects teacher wellbeing and student behavior in three Minnesota Schools
After 90% of the dirty electricity in the school was removed:
- 66% of the teachers felt better, 30% felt worse, and 6% felt no change.
- Elementary and middle school students became more active in class and more focused; their learning experience improved, and they complained less about health problems.

– Teachers and children felt better after dirty electricity was reduced.
- Magda Havas, 2006 – Electromagnetic hypersensitivity: biological effects of dirty electricity with emphasis on diabetes and multiple sclerosis
[The original English abstract appears here on the page, unchanged.] In summary:
- Graham/Stetzer (GS) filters were installed in schools with sick building syndrome, and staff and students reported better health and more energy.
- In one school, fewer students needed asthma inhalers, and in another school, behavior associated with ADD/ADHD improved.
- In some diabetics, blood sugar levels responded to the amount of dirty electricity in their environment.
- People with multiple sclerosis had better balance and fewer tremors, and some who needed a cane walked unaided within days to weeks after the filters were installed at home.

– Improvement in the condition of people with asthma, attention disorders, diabetes and MS after dirty electricity was treated.
