For the first time in history, a simple PC game that describes the life of an Electromagnetic Sensitive person in the big city.
The game is designed for both educational purposes and fun. It incorporates real-world principles of dealing with radiation exposure and Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS). For instance, staying near a radiation source damages your health, while collecting wired equipment earns positive points. Collecting transmitting devices results in negative points, whereas collecting radiation meters, RF hats, or protective jackets yields positive points. Personal protection (hats and jackets) provides you with a certain level of defense against radiation. Spending time near another EHS person improves your health (provided they are optimistic and coping well). I hope this game brings a smile to the faces of EHS individuals and those coping with radiation sensitivity, while teaching them these essential principles along the way.
Concept
You play as a person with Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS) navigating through a city saturated with wireless radiation. You must survive 10 levels by collecting all the good items on each screen, avoiding radiofrequency (RF) sources that drain your health bar, and without touching any zombies.
Stats & Indicators
At the top of the screen, you will find metrics such as Health, Points, number of items collected, remaining items to collect, and more. A map legend is also located at the top of the screen.
The City
Buildings fill the map, but an open, clear corridor runs along all four edges, allowing you to always “wrap around” the screen — exiting from the left makes you reappear on the right, and exiting from the top makes you reappear at the bottom.
Characters
- You (The Hero): A glowing green dot, controlled using the Arrow keys or WASD.
- Zombies (Dark Brown skulls): Slow wanderers carrying wireless devices, emitting red RF radiation. Touching one will kill you instantly.
- Cell Phone Users (Purple): People using wireless devices, who also emit red RF radiation.
- EHS People (Green): Fellow radiation-sensitive friends; touching them heals you and restores +1% health per second.
- Cell Towers (Orange, on about 1/3 of the roofs): Emit strong RF radiation, making them especially dangerous when you are in their direct line of sight.
Health
- Your health bar starts at 100% on every level. All items reset, and equipment cannot be carried over from level to level.
- The bar drops when you are near any RF radiation source — the closer you are, the faster it drains.
- Health slowly regenerates when you move completely away from all radiation sources.
- The first 5 seconds of each level grant a grace period of total immunity.
- An RF protection hat and an RF protection jacket reduce damage and speed up your recovery rate (by 3x and 2x, respectively).
- You have 3 lifes to compleate the chalange
Items
- Green Dots (Wired Equipment): Earphones, cables, wired phones: +1 point.
- Blue Dots (EMF Meters): +10 points.
- Silver Dots (RF Hat or RF Jacket): Grant +3 points in addition to the protection bonus for that specific level.
- Red Dots (Wireless Devices): Collecting one of these will cost you 2 points (penalty).
Progression
- Collect all the good items on the screen to clear it (+10 bonus points) and advance to the next level.
- Each level adds one additional zombie (up to 10) and one additional user (up to 20).
- Each level features a freshly generated, randomized city layout.
- Complete all 10 levels to win the game.
Controls
+/- keys: Cycle through your equipment bag (just for fun, no real functionality).
Arrow keys or WASD: Move.
Sound
Good pickup — a bright rising two-tone beep 🎵 Bad pickup — a harsh descending buzz 📉 Death — a miserable descending wail with a low rumble underneath 💀
