Minimizing exposure in your Car

Preview

Most of us spend few hours a week (if not more) in our Car.   The car is a machine that have electric, electronic component and parts which emit ELF magnetic and electric fields. Some of the car equipment also emit RF radiation. In addition to that, when driving the car you are exposed to what EMF exist on and near the road, mainly RF radiation from cellphone towers and ELF magnetic and electric fields from power lines.
Exposure  reduction in the car is extremely important for Electromagnetic Hypersensitive people.
In order to reduce exposure to EMF in the car I recommend to do the following steps.
Since I understand the possible health risk of EMF exposure and because I was already hurt bythe exposure to it and I suffer from exposure to even very low levels, my recommendation might be considered very stricked.

Before you buy

  1. Test the car before buying using you EMF meter both for RF and ELF sources in side the car.
Please read this article before you do so  - EMF In Cars
  2. I recommend to buy the car that has lowest levels of ELF magnetic fields.
  3. I try to select car that have ELF level of below 2mG on the sets, Below 10 mG on the pedals
    ~2mG near the pedals

  4. I try to select cars that don't have RF emitting device inside of them and if they do I make sure these can be turned off.
  5. I also make sure that devices that emits RF inside the car and can't be turned off can be removed or changed with devices that use wired technology or that their RF transmission can be turned OFF.

Steps to reduce EMF exposure in the car

  1. Test the RF and ELF magnetic fields in the car, please read EMF In Cars
  2. Make sure the ELF exposure is lower then 2mG on the sets, face and body and lower than 10 mG on the feets.
  3. Turn off the wireless transmissions from all RF emitting devices that are in the car.
  4. Remove and exchange the RF devices in the car that their RF emission can't be turned OFF.

  5. Turn Off all wireless device that you bring into the car.
  6. Turn Off your smartphone or put it Airplane mode.
  7. Install a GPS/DVD/FM Radio system, that allows you to turn off all it wireless capabilities. This system will allow you to have GPS navigation and listen to music or radio without RF emission as in case of smartphone navigation apps. GPS/DVD/Radio system that it RF emission can be turned OFF

Special steps for EHS people:

  1. Use RF Protection Hats (legionnaire hat is recommended) to protect the hard and neck.

  2. Use RF Protection Jacket or/and Scarf to protect the upper body.

  3. Install RF Blocking film over the sides and back windows, according to your country lows and regulations.
