WIFI routers and access points emit Electromagnetic radiation all the time, even when there is no computer or laptop connected to them. The only way to stop the emission is to turn the WIFI feature of on the router. In some routers there is a possibility to do that using the router HTML GUI or a button on the back of it. It is not recommended to use WIFI for long time, or to leave it working when there are people around.
